The funeral of the late Adelle Selene Thorne, age 88 yrs, also known as “Dell Mapp”, of 2nd Avenue, Greens, St. George, a member of St. Jude’s Church Mother’s Union; Daughter of the late Horace and Enis Mapp, widow of Leslie Thorne, mother of Hazel Manning of London, Ainsley Thorne a plumber foreman (Ag) of Barbados Water Authority, Jacqueline Thorne-Richards, senior teacher of George Lamming Primary School, adopted mother of Janice Suttle, grandmother of Abigail Manning of London, Roydon Richards an instructor of The Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic, Jared Richards  an Attorney-At-Law Solicitor General Office, Lisa Thorne a teacher of Bridgetown Seventh Day Adventist Primary School and Julia Thorne a student of The University of The West Indies, adopted grandmother of Dr. Sarah Harris, name removed and great grandmother of two, sister of Marjorie Mapp of the U.S.A., Keith Mapp of London and the late Harold Mapp and Edith Walrond, aunt of Lyris Blackman, Noel Clarke, Judy Mapp, Adrian Mapp Mayor of Plainfield New Jersey, Esther Johnson and many others, cousin of Lucille Seale, Thelma and Goldalene Brathwaite, Grace Barrow, Hazel Walcott, Tony Best the Nation Correspondent to New York, Rudolph and Colleen Mapp, Elaine and Denise Graham, Evelyn McCollin and many others, mother-in-law of Florence Thorne, William Richards and the late David Manning, sister-in-law of Audine Mapp, relative of the Mapp, Prince, Smith and Brathwaite families, friend of Many. The funeral leaves Waithe’s Funeral Home, Greens, St. George on Wednesday 9th December 2015 at 1:45pm for the St. Jude’s Anglican Church, St. Jude’s Village, St. George, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00pm for the service and then the interment in the church yard. The organist, choir and mother’s union members are asked to attend. Floral tributes can be sent to Waithe’s Funeral Home not later than 1:00pm on Wednesday.
